Mechanic Monday Tip of the week...The clutch Judder spring.
In this pic you can see the 3 parts that make up the judder spring assembly. (2 metal spring plates that fit in between the inner hub and the half size fiber plate) The MX magazines say to toss this spring assembly and replace it with a normal size fiber plate. I fully agree with them to toss this assembly. The judder assembly digs into your inner clutch hub and causes damage. Also I really can't tell any difference in clutch feel by replacing them with a normal size fiber plate. If your bike has this set up check with the dealer to see if it safe for you to follow this tip.
