Mechanic Monday... Tip of the week.
The sweet protection of a skid plate (glide plate).
Most after-market plates have a bracket that holds the front of the plate to the frame . This bracket on some models can be a pain to get lined up into position. If you would like to enjoy the convenience of being able to quickly remove and install your skid plate to perform other maintenance try this. Apply a bit of epoxy or silicon to the bracket where it mates with the frame and install your skid plate. Next time you remove the plate the bracket should remain in the correct position to easily reinstall the plate.
