Mechanic Monday ...Tip of the week
Super size me please...
There are a couple large allen (hex) sockets that are needed to service the newer MX bikes. Sizes 36,22,19 and 14 mm which are not common to a basic allen socket set are now common to the different brands of MX bikes. However large allen sockets can be a bit spendy if you are just keeping one bike in racing shape. An option at $4 to $6 each is to use metric coupling nuts that have the correct size wrenching flats. With a socket you can use a torque wrench with a coupling nut. Also if you need to cut one down to fit in a tight space you are cutting a $4 tool instead of a more expensive tool.
