I realize Piru is far from most of you Gangsters, but for those that are close enough to throw down some practice laps I wanted to share this. I have never cared for Piru even though it is the closest track to me. Hard packed, slippery and very hard to stay out of the fast guys way because of how narrow it was. I have been reading online that the new owner has been prepping it very well and decided to check it out last Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised, loamy everywhere. The track has been widened slightly in a few key areas to make it safer for all. The main track now goes where the mini track was and has a pretty gnarly double for the jumpers. I will be going back for sure, which says a lot because I swore to never ride there again several years ago.
I'm not saying I would pass numerous tracks to ride there but if it is close to you it is worth checking out.
Ride safe,
Marty

Marty, did they raise the gate fee?  Been hearing that it's going to $35 this month.

Yes Steve, it is now $35. Honestly that is the biggest reason I chose to go check it out. I figured there would be a light crowd because of all the bitching about the increased price. My biggest issue previously was how busy the track was, too many faster guys and too narrow to safely stay out of the way. For me the $35 is a non issue because I am going to spend far more than $10 in gas getting to the next track. Like I said, it is worth checking out if you are close.

Wow 35.00? You know once the other tracks hear about this they will all jump up in price. I hope they have those bathrooms cleaned weekly for a 10.00 increase. 😛
