I started riding in 1970, but I was not sure when I actually started racing, but it was with the OTHG club. So while cleaning up, I found an old "hole shot", which was the official OTHG newsletter at the time. Looks like I started racing in April of '84. That's when all the racers had nicknames, and mine was "chevy". Yes, my first name was misspelled, as it should be Philip with one L.

I still remember all those tracks and how much fun it was. Glad I'm still having fun.

Phil,

Ohhhh, how time fly's.  I think you raced before 84 as I was riding with you in  81 or 82.  Steve still had his 80

Well, not completely sure Dave, but don't think I raced before joining OTHG. We did do a lot of riding at all the tracks plus a lot of riding at Gorman, when there were no rules or restrictions or areas sectioned off with one way signs. I have no idea how we survived those crazy days  😮

I remember riding at Indian Dunes, probably 20 years old and seeing all these old guys wearing these funny looking jerseys thinking...

"What a bunch of dorks, look at the old dudes trying to ride like us"

And now I am one.......oh god!

Awesome Holeshot from the past, thanks for the find Phil.
