Hi my name is Wesley M. Dean 5G and I am the 2012 OTHG Web Director.  I have been working in IT since 1995.  I worked for EDS as a Senior Systems Administrator until HP purchased EDS in 2008.  In early 2009 I continued my Career in IT as a Senior Analyst with the Federal Government.  I am a resident of Perris, CA.  I am with a wonderful Woman and an awesome supporter of the sport I love. My Better Half …Well you know her Melanie ….Mel’s Pics.

I started racing at the age of 12 on a Yamaha MX 100, and raced at Saddleback, Carlsbad, Indian Dunes, Ascot, Alhambra MX Park, Irwindale raceway.  I raced until I was 16,  then off to college and the Military (Navy).  Although I stopped racing I never lost the passion to ride and race and just be around the sport. In 1992 I bought a used 1989 YZ250 and went to De Anza one Sunday and watched the OTHG club race.  Later that year I bought a new 1992 YZ250 and I became a member of the OTHG.  I have been racing on and off with the OTHG since then.

I am running for re-election as Web Director because I possess the knowledge and understanding of the forum and website software packages.  I am diligent and always assist my fellow board members in the day to day duties of the board.

I have customized the OTHG website using PHP, and HTML and custom plugins to bring the members new and exciting informational and visual displays.  I reorganized the main page and menus, changed the template colors, and updated sponsors, and added video sections.  I have posted each event with writes ups from the President and added track information, directional maps, and weather.  I created new menu items such as Moto U,  which consist of Fox Videos, Riding Tips, How To , Moto Fitness and a brand new section Moto Nutrition.  I consistently monitor and update the site with results, points, newsletters, and changing information.  I assisted Fox in creating custom banners that highlight Fox and increase the professional look of the OTHG website.  I maintain the website with version and plugin updates.

One of my biggest goals/successes was to create and offer online registration for our South National Event.  This was a huge undertaking, that allows for quick and easy registration and payment with paypal, and will save time and help in early budgeting for the National.
I brought back the OTHG Membership Card.  I designed and created the 2012 OTHG membership card and added all active members info and then laminated each card.

I set up/ break down all computer equipment, routers, MyLaps Decoder, printers, trench and install conduit and the detection loop at all events.

I have been active in obtaining sponsors and new members for our club, specifically Langston Motorsports.  I worked with Gerald Langston to create a discount coupon for all active members.

I will continue the work ethic and direction that has taken the OTHG website to new successes.  I have new ideas in customizing the theme to bring an even better visual and informational experience for 2013.

I respectfully request your nomination and vote for 2013 OTHG South Web Director.  And I approve this Message  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thank you,
Wesley M. Dean
2012 Web Director

I would like to nominate Kon Baur for Race Director. He has been a stand up member for a lot of years. I'm not even sure he will accept the nomination, but I think he would make a good one.

Hello everyone,
Based on recent events  I have given much thought about running for Treasurer next year. At first, I was thinking WHY? Why put myself through this for an additional 12 months, 25-30 events or so to get completely drained of energy. And I was ready to throw in the towel. Between my career, my parents, my kids, me, and the OTHG my life is all about balance. I thought last year that taking some of my time for the club was a good thing, I was giving back. I still had balance. There are perks being a board member, you get to race for free, and you learn things about the club that you would never think of that need to happen to make races happen. It is really cool.

Nine months later some of my opinions have been altered a little. I was losing some of my balance. I was second guessing some of my goals that I had as Treasurer.  At first all was good. We were the team. But, lately, after a few incidents, continued posts, comments and such have all combined together I was thinking differently about lots of things. Most of these have had a huge impact on me. After months of this I was spent and in the end a friend of mine is never racing with us again. I wasen't sure if I had it in me anymore.

And then I thought, NO! I am not done, Nowhere near done. I love this club, I love racing. I still owe. We are so much better than all of this. I'll stand with the OTHG because the OTHG can stand up to anyone or anything.

We are all family, we say it all the time. The Over The Hill Gang Motocross Racing Club. We love what we do, and we love those that we do it with. Or that's how it should be. Our world is messed up enough without us adding to it.

I am offering my services as Treasurer for 2013 if nominated.

For those that do not know me, my name is Ben Paris. Expanding on the career part up above, I manage two warehouses for Siemens Industry, Inc., one in Cypress and the other in San Diego. I manage roughly 3 million in inventory, distributing to job sites for install on construction sites. Our division handles heating/air, fire life safety, and security.

My parents, kids and stuff I'll leave out unless someone wants to know.

This year as Treasurer I have balanced the checkbook, kept record of each race, filed our tax forms, made all necessary deposits, and created the paypal option with the help of Mr. Wes Dean. I'm kinda obsessed with balancing to the penny. It's my moms fault.

Thanks for reading,
Ben
