Hey Gang,

As you have probably seen the club is growing and the need for transponders have become apparent.  Although we will continue to rent our transponders we offer our members the opportunity to purchase their own personal MyLaps transponder. The MYLAPS MX Rechargeable Power Transponder provides you with accurate and reliable information about your race and practice results. The transponder comes with a charger. After each full charge, it has an operational time of 5 days.

There are two purchase options:

1) MX Flex Personal Transponder
    a) 1 year $90.
    b) 2 year $125
    c) 5 year $215

Note: At the end of each subscription you have to renew

2) MX classic Transponder

Note: 1 payment of $260.00 and you never have to renew

Please go to: MyLaps for more information.

Our existing transponders, have no renewal issues.  These would be for new owners and only for the owners that choose the My Flex option.

Thanks Mike, but I'm not interested in selling it to the club. My intention is for it to go to someone who can't afford to pony up the high price of a new one.

Chucky it's not for the club. Mark Bush and Danny Coughlin were looking for one.

We have done group buys for Bay/Sierra and got a good deal on purchasing the normal transponder that you dont have to renew. When we buy 10 or more we get them for $220 each. So it save the members $40-50. Price has gone up over the years and could go up again. So if you plan on racing for the next several years just buy your own unit and your good to go. When I joined in 2010 they were going for $180 on a group buy, then they went to $210 and now $220.

Talk to Kelly Chase at Mylaps if interested in ordering a group buy for your members, if you have 10 or more interested in buying some.

Jimmy, at this time I don't think OTMX is using any transponders at this time. That could change.

 John you know I'm the last person who cares what the Timers are doing.

I understanding it is working fine for us and as was voted in by the membership.... Just seems peculiar they went away from it and it works so well for us and the other chapters.
