If I only had 2 extra laps that pesky Kreutzer would have been history 😀
I think a 20 min moto is Ideal nothing longer?? What are they now?
If I'm correct, (correct me if I'm wrong) the lap times are used to set the # of laps. I unfortunately tend to go faster as the moto progresses so a 5 lap sprint race .... You get where I'm goin with this 😉 I would guess that my motos this weekend averaged 12.5 minutes. At hollister according to the transponder I raced 45 Min's. the entire weekend. Two weeks ago MY transponder had me at 1 1/2 hrs. with 5 motos at 20 Min's.
Just thought I'd get the general consenses on this subject as I tend to hear the same sentiment in the pits. Thanks for taking the the time to vote.

Chucky, a word of advice my friend...
If you're potentially our next president, then you're going to have to deal with a wide variety of opinions and factors on this matter. I've been hearing people singing this tune for years, and while no one wants to feel short changed on the track, there's something to be said for having a program that runs on time. Sure some of us may have not have much else to do on Sunday and can spend all day at the track, but not everyone can say that. People with a long drive ahead of them (like 10 hours going home from a national) may appreciate an efficiently run program. This doesn't even bring up the additional costs associated with renting the track for a longer duration.
I've done some vet races at a few of the local tracks and I can tell you for sure that the number of laps they give us is less than what the gang gives...and for essentially the same entry fee (if not more).
But just like everything else, you will never make everyone happy. It's the same as how people talk about tracks: they're always too fast, too tight, too bumpy, too jumpy, too far away.
So this is just the opinion of one board member, and surely not shared by all. In general, we're trying our best to please everyone, but as you can see, it's certainly not easy...
Jeff
How about this for an idea. Instead of laps let's try timed motos you just might be able to get that extra lap you may need.
Yeah exactly 20 Min's. masters, experts. 18 Min's. inter./Nov. 15 Min's. beg. /support just an Idea 🙂 I agree with you Jeff efficiency is key maybe if we pre entered the races the kaos in the morning would be minimized and not only would it be easier on the ladies but we may get going a bit earlier. I'm sure there a lot of things I'm not privy to yet but I'm sure it can be done 😉 like you said we can't please every one but I'm willing to try. I'm not planning to turn the ship up side down but I'm not going to sit on the stern and troll either.

I like the idea of timed motos plus 1 or 2 laps......
If I only had 2 extra laps that pesky Kreutzer would have been history 😀
Hey Chuck,
Can I pick and choose? 1st moto at Glen Helen I would have been good with three laps ( Arm Pump) I was in the lead till lap 4. Moto 2 I would have like two more laps because I reeled them in and needed 1 more lap to take the lead. Sunday Moto one was good and could of had more or not. Moto 2 I was good with 3 laps again ( Arm Pump).

No way Mr fast guy you gotta hold on to the end :-*
Why not 1 lap?!? With a $ 1,000 cash at the finish line? No Rules? Mad Max style! arguhhhh!!!!!!
I second the idea of fixed time plus one or 2 laps. Will be a lot easier to coordinate in advance, and make everybody (almost) happy.
Preregister will be a great thing as well, and help the score keepers. Maybe online... Web Dude may have some ideas on this, without having
to get the full web based system.

Franck the only problem I see with online is you could "change your mind" If you download and print your entry form mail a check and get $5.00 knocked off the fees by mailing it in it would probably keep the system smoother. Keep the input coming folks 8)

Timed seems like the most efficient way to run!!!
For the online portion, how about paypal? Setting up othg as it was a store? Then you just log in and apply for a race, fill out the race sheet info, than pay on line with credit card.... Cut off time being 24 hours before, so the sign up sheets can be collected from the internet.
It will be great for the regulars, which make up for large portion of the entries.
Just a thought. I could look into it and see if it is viable....

I like the idea of online sign-ups with Paypal/Credit Card. As far as the motos, I think the timed method would be great. This is just my opinion 22 min for ex/masters, 20 min for Int, 18 min for Nov, 16 min for beginners, then depending on length of the track you do 1 or 2 extra laps. Just my 2 cents worth.
