Mechanic Monday . Tip of the Week... The brain laps.
It is often common to take something apart on your bike then wait for a while until you receive the parts to put it back together.
Now that a week or so has gone by and you have poured your brain over a hundred other different projects, The time has come to remember exactly how it goes back together.
Here are the top 5 ways to help with that reassembly memory.
1. Take pics with your phone to show the removal steps and highlights.
2. Hold your service manual open to the page you are working on with a clip board.
3. Have your laptop or tablet show the parts catalog while you work to see the proper stack up and position of parts.
4. Steel your wife's muffin tin and label it with tape and sort out the removed hardware with locations.
5. Engrave or mark parts with a sharpie with their orientation. Such as left, right , top, forward, aft, etc. etc
That's all for this week
Stay greasy my friends
