First I would like to thank the Sierra chapter and the AMP Racing crew for all of their hard work in throwing another epic race weekend at Oat field MX. The low down. Arrived Thursday and the wind was howling 20 mph + Friday morning the wind still blowing hard all day but practice went off without a hitch the track was in great shape.
Friday after practice there was a wedding at the track. Friday night we had are carne asda with about 20 south members thanks to everyone who contributed to the dinner. Elaine the tater tot nachos were great And the brownies the Lombardo's brought were off the hook 😛 . Saturday woke up to a beautiful day no wind clear sky's there were 307 riders signed up and the races ran all day with no injury's. Saturday night the raffle was awesome with $30,000 worth of stuff given away.
Sunday morning another great day the weather was perfect a light breeze clear sky's. the race started off good but we had two helicopter flight's one flagger had their back to the track and was hit by a bike it turn out they would be ok just bruised up the other was Gary Plaatje his injuries were a broken arm a collapsed lung and some broken ribs last report he is doing ok.
Notables. 45 women's Betsy Lawrence 1st,Finn 2nd and Patty Holland 3rd in the 38 Novice Joel Burkett 1st ,Michael Benninghofer 2nd and Sedanna Losey 3rd. in the 45 Expert Brad Peters 1st, Randy Jones 2nd And John Lombardo 3rd.
