Mechanic Monday Tip of the week... Pinch bolts.
Your fork triple clamps and your front wheel axel usually have a duel pinch bolt setup.
Have you noticed that as you tighten one bolt down that the other gets loose? Well that is not a good thing to do all at once, especially with forks as we don't want to create stress risers in the metal.
This weeks tip is how to get those bolts evenly tightened.
First set your torque wrench to half the recommended torque. Tighten both bolts going back and forth from bolt to bolt until you get the 1/2 setting torque on both.
Then set your torque wrench to the full recommended torque and tighten both bolts going back and forth from bolt to bolt until you get the correct torque.
You may have to go back and forth a few times but  when you are done the torque wrench will keep you on track to have a correct and even torque.

Stay greasy my friends
