Whats the difference?
Here it is.
For 2016 the "average" speed difference between each class through the year for our local races. Best laps tallied and averaged from each track and each class in 2016

30 Beg to 30 Nov. 14 seconds
30 Nov to 30 Int. 10 seconds
30 Int to 30 Exp 9 seconds
30 Exp to 30 Master 2 seconds

38 Beg to 38 Nov 12 seconds
38 Nov to 38 Int. 4 seconds
38 Int to 38 Exp 9 seconds
38 Exp to 38 Master 2 seconds

45 Beg to 45 Nov 12 seconds
45 Nov to 45 Int 13 seconds
45 Int to 45 Exp 6 seconds
45 Exp to 45 Master 6 seconds

52 Beg to 52 Nov 19 seconds
52 Nov to 52 Int 8 seconds
52 Int to 52 Exp 8 seconds
52 exp to 52 Master 6 seconds

58 Beg to 58 Nov 14 seconds
58 Nov to 58 Int 10 seconds
58 Int to 58 Exp 8 seconds
58 Exp to 58 Master 5 seconds

There was pretty limited data for 65 A and B but it was trending for 15 seconds

Here is how the data was formed. Each class was averaged at each race and the difference in best lap time in moto 1 was recorded. Then that number for each track was averaged to give the average speed difference for entire classes vs the next class up.

Hope you enjoyed this bit of 2016 trivia.

Thanks Dave.  Interesting data analysis and thanks for doing that.  It appears that our use of transponders and policing of lap times is working well.  This is a great racing organization.  I am proud to be a member.

Funny thing I had a bad dream last night and could swear that I was on a bump list?  Then I woke up.  That was scary since I doubt I am getting bumped???  When are they announcing bumps ( or promotions depending on how you perceive it).  Merry Christmas to all!

Not to take anything a way from you Mark. You definitely step up your game. But I don't see you getting bump up from all the lap times I see between 52 Novice and intermediate classes. 4-8 seconds per lap is a big gap to fill.

So this is all you guys need to do to go to the next level.

Hold on the gas a little longer, brake a little stronger, close your eyes and hold on. Lol

Just a note all the times above are based of the "ENTIRE" class average, not the fastest guy in the class.

I have an "average" joke.  I stood with one foot on hot coals and the other foot in a bucket of ice water.  On average, I was comfortably warm.
