Poll on Milestone

With scheduling the Milestone Vet track there’s a few reasons
1. it gives our Beginner and Novice riders a track that they can build up those skills and not a track to roll all the jumps on.
2. It also brings in a lot of one day riders that can lead to more members joining. Which the club can always use
3. it’s one of the most popular tracks out there just like LACR Vet track that helps bring good  revenue that the club can use to support the tracks that don’t and also help with more funds for the National.

As a novice, I'm typically more a fan of the vet layouts. More racing and less about survival. I'm sure others will disagree, just my take on it.

Watched a couple recent videos of each track. Both look fun. Nothing really dangerous on main track, but I still think the vet layout would lend itself to more aggression (for a slow guy like me). It ain't all about me though, so whatever works!

As a Novice rider who loves the Milestone Vet track with my buddies, I know it's way to small to hold a 100 plus rider race!  No way will it hold up and there will be carnage because of the one lined nature of this track!  I vote yest to change it, the point of riding the main tracks for the club is that fast guys go fast and the beg/nov riders just don't jump what they can't!  Milestone brings the crowd whether it's on the main or vet!

As a Novice, I love doing laps on the Vet. Super fun, but not so much for good, safe racing. Three of us were doing a moto on it last Friday, and it was very tricky to pass each other at race pace safely clearing all the jumps and almost impossible on the rest of it. That was with only three of us. The main is great and it's current layout is fine for beginner through our elites. Thank you for putting this up for vote.  I'll race either track, but I vote to race the main. Thanks again

Main. My lap times on the vet 1:05 on the main 1:40. As was stated earlier, I paraphrase, too small too sketchy to race on.
For comparison lacr my lap times on the vet 1:25 on the current main 1:40.

Currently the Milestone main track is a true vet track anyhow.

Haha, I'm down with whatever. I actually didn't realize the vet track times are barley a minute long, that can be an issue.

At the same time picking the more popular track makes sense as well. I don't know how it is at Milestone, but at LACR for example the vet track is constantly packed and the main is practically empty. Hell, I saw Mike alessi pound out 3 motos on the vet track last year and not even touch the main haha.

I vote Main track. The jumps are laid out really easy and safe right now. There are people who won't do the jumps on the vet track anyway.

C'mon, why even debate this?  The Vet track is merely a practice track and nothing more. I love it for practice, but it's one lined and too short to really race on.  I have raced on it before, so this is not supposition....

The 2018 schedule has been set, if this does not make this group happy. At the Cahuilla meeting please find someone to replace me and I’ll kindly step down. If not, let move forward, continue to race and finished out the 2018 year.

As BEGGINER national champion and a not so good novice I vote main track... last year when I signed up the first thing I was told we are the only vet motocross club that don't race vet tracks and proud of it now this SMH

I vote also for main track. But what is not being said that makes this a useless thread and a board member should have put this to rest. Is at this point I seriously doubt the club would be able to switch because the main track is probably booked for some other event.

This was just a friendly poll to see if we could change to the main track with many valid reasons brought up by members. I think the comments were positive and nobody was asking anyone to step down. I'm not familiar with the rules about changing the track at the same venue. We all appreciate the efforts of the board and we all know the great expense of putting on races. I believe there is only one start gate at Milestone and giving that we have quite a bit of time to change tracks, the question...is it possible to change? We are not sharing this race if i read the schedule right...

Your right Eric about there only being one gate. But they will probably have open practice and get more to come ride if the main track is open compared to the vet track. This race is on there calendar so people wanting to ride that day know the main is open for them.

I've hear ,they have now a second gate at Vet track. Some one who rides there please check it out and confirm the gate is there and working.
Check how many starting spots,too.
