Always sad to see someone leave the sport.  I never really had the opportunity to speak with him, but saw him at a number of OTHG events.  He reminded me of Danny Magoo Chandler!  Not sure why, but that who I thought of whenever I'd see him.  RIP Kirt, may you be roosting your way through the pearly gates into heaven.

Wow, I am in total shock.  Met Kirk about 25 years ago during the revival of the Elsinore GP, chasing him the entire race.  Battled him again the following year, too.  Kirk wasn't only a great competitor but a truly good guy.  When I pulled into the pits if Kirk was at the track, that's were I was parking.  One of the truly best people I have known.  Kirk had character beyond compare.  I am deeply saddened and will really miss his humor, comrotery and friendship.

Sad news...
Kirk was a rider of the month back in 2014. He said he was the only student who showed to high school graduation with a cowboy hat on.
Will surely miss him and his benevolence.

I will truly miss ZZ. Always had a good time with him and many a good battle. I first met him when the OTHG had a national at Quail Canyon I think in 98. I was battling for the lead with Don Reed. Blix and Kirt were standing at a corner, (they had never met before)  Blix was rooting for Reid (me) and Kirt was rooting for Don Reed. Kirt asked "who are you rooting for"? Blix said Reid. Schrader said that's not Reed. Blix said yes he is, that's Reid.
That was the beginning of a great relationship.
He will always been in my thoughts, I will never forget him.

A few of us made it out to Murrieta Friday attending Kirt's service.  It was standing room only for a man that had many friends.  Don Reed and Jason delivered a heartfelt awsome eulagy.  Kirk left behind an awsome family.  It was really cool that several OTHG members drove over 3 hours to pay their respects (The General).  Kirk was a long time member of OTHG. I remember running Mammoth with him when OTHG ran Mammoth (jeez 20 yrs ago?).  OTHG was mentioned several times during the service.  Kirk played a part in OTHG membership as OTHG played apart in his life.  I would really like to see the club do something in his memory.

Finn and myself were unable to make it to Kirk's funeral, yet thanks to TP (who represented us) we were told it was outstanding and that several OTHG members made it out. That is so wonderful and just shows how much of an impact Kirk made.  I will miss banging bars with him, as well as, the conversations had on the slide lines.  He will truly be missed.
