Hello everyone! My first race with OTHG will be at Cal City next month. It will also be my first time racing since I was a teenager. Just got back into riding a couple years ago and riding tracks less than a year ago. I signed up as a beginner because I am undoubtedly slow! Much slower than I was 15 years ago.
So, any tips? Should I purchase my transponder online? Since it isn't a national and it's an evaluation race, does it matter what color backgrounds/numbers I run?
Thank you for your time!

Hi James,
Welcome to the OTHG.
Cal City is a GREAT track. TRANSPONDERS will be available at the track it might be 5.00 bucks rental.
Tips are
1. Stay on 2 wheels
2. Hit the gas
3. Avoid the B.S. lol
Good luck

No, it doesn't matter what color backgrounds/numbers you have on the bike.
First race, cool. I always suggest letting the gate drop on your first moto to see how your class goes into the first turn, then just work your way through the pack. As for backgrounds unless it’s a national you can run what you have and sign ups will give you a G in the color of the class you are riding. As mention transponders can be rented just remember to bring your driver license to sign up to check one out Email me if you have any questions.

Thank you for the replies!
The biggest reason to come out and race is for fun! Plan on coming out to practice on Saturday. After practice ends at 2 pm we are going to have an OTHG BBQ. Please come over and say hello and meet some of the coolest people riding dirt bikes!!! No attitudes, just super cool cats that still love riding dirt bikes!! See you at CCMX!
