Mechanic Monday Tip of the week
Through life we learn things like not putting a square peg in a round hole. But how about putting a long a bolt in a shallow aluminum hole? There are a few instances on your bike’s engine where you can remove a cover and there will be different length screws in it. If one is not careful you can damage the engine case by putting a long bolt in a shallow hole. Try this simple tip next time you need to remove a cover. Make a cardboard drawing of the case or cover and use a punch to put holes in it then simply put the bolts you remove into the cardboard where they match the case or cover.
