Hey Gang,
As you have probably seen the club is growing and the need for transponders have become apparent. Although we will continue to rent our transponders we offer our members the opportunity to purchase their own personal MyLaps transponder. The MYLAPS MX Rechargeable Power Transponder provides you with accurate and reliable information about your race and practice results. The transponder comes with a charger. After each full charge, it has an operational time of 5 days.
There are two purchase options:
1) MX Flex Personal Transponder
a) 1 year $90.
b) 2 year $125
c) 5 year $215
Note: At the end of each subscription you have to renew
2) MX classic Transponder
Note: 1 payment of $260.00 and you never have to renew

So I want to buy one. Can I buy it now, or is it better to buy it at Elsinore? Honestly, is the orange one always gonna work with mylaps or will it be retired for the new model?

Scotty you will need to wait till Elsinore. My understanding is they will always work with the Mylaps System.
This Classic Model (orange) has already been replaced by Mylaps new model the X2..with the X2 you have to pay a yearly subscription. With the Classic model that we are selling to the members, there is no yearly subscription.
These are new and have never been used.
Let me know if you want one and I will have it at Elsinore all charged and ready?

One more question for you on the transponders:
It was said that at our National that they might be using a different style of timing device? Will this still be the My Laps or are we all going to have to rent a transponder?

That is not the case, we will be using our own Mylaps System.
I think there may be a little confusion in what was stated at the last meeting about transponders, so let me clear the air.
Since the club does not own enough transponders for the expected turn out for the up coming National at LACR, we will be borrowing and renting some from someone else to use.

Scotty, these are the Classic, the same as we use at our races. Charge it and go, no subscription fees.
The X-2 you pay for the transponder and then you pay a yearly subscription fee.
Will will have the remaining transponders at Lake Elsinore.
