Steve, you are in the correct class.  831 ran Expert lap times and IMO is in the wrong class.  Everything shakes out eventually.

See you at Cal City!

Actually NO scott Terrell 831 didn't run EXP times.... he wouldn't have even won the INT class.... he has since moved  up so hes where he should be in INT... it does all work out...

Well let me speak for the new guys here.  Im new to the board and new to OTHG.  I absolutely loved riding with this group, I truly had an enjoyable day.  I had no idea where to place myself with this group.  Im pretty sure thats why they eval us coming in.  Ive race with other groups and thats where there is some serious sandbagging going on.  I raced the 38 Novice.  Im 42, a lot slower then i used to be and a whole lot more out of shape.  I think I finished 4th or 5th in 38 Novice.  So I think Im in the right class.  Ill be the first to bump myself if I feel I need to move up.  But I had some good battles with some good riders.  Trophies are cool, but Im just a guy who loves to ride and meet new people with the same passion.  So for the guys that came in and smoked their class, give them a race to figure it out.  Im sure most have the integrity to move up, they just didnt know where to put themselves.  Well thats my two cents for what its worth.  Again, I had a blast, thanks to OTHG for giving us old guys a safe fun place to race.  Take care, see you at the track.

Mark your in right class.... and yes that was me in 2nd moto you sneaked by right on last lap.... I was pretty much done and spent.... LOL  I tried to get you back....

my first few races I had someone riding up behind be while he was on his bike tapping my shoulder and yelling at me... DUDE you need to move yourself up, your too fast for class....  and then rode away... not the way I would handle it but oh well that's him....  IT was a track I flowed with very well, like LACR which is my FAV track and I can turn higher lap times in class (if I had stamina and was in riding shape) I could hold and place a lot higher in class vs other tracks....  People do have that one track that there always gonna be quite a bit faster than others....

DWagoner522g, I had a blast chasing you all day.  I was also spent at the end.  Sucks getting old.  I have to say, it did make me want to start training again.  There was a nice little group around us that battled all day.  Looking forward to sunrise, hope to see you all there.

Lap times from LACR -  Not my dog in the fight, but 831 ran expert lap times.  It’s moot now.

YEP  he ran 2:00  and INT ran faster (1:57) than that and EXP ran even faster than INT (1:47)...top times in each division,  not sure your point or what your trying to say but hes not an expert... and didn't run expert times....

LOL...Scott DID win the intermediate class actually. He actually smoked the whole line and not just the 38 intermediates - 45's also, and Blake was on FIRE running in the 1:49's on the fast lap. That's my class, so I know - he was ten seconds a lap in front of me.  He just didn't get the overall due to the points system for that day since he transferred up.  Good riding Scott!!!!

Thank you ladies for your hard work!

Quick question, how does one go from winning in the beginner class on a consistent basis to being 25 seconds a lap slower than 1st place in the Novice class?  I mean holy shit.  I didn't get bumped, I chose to move up as I don't really feel that I'm a beginner.  I don't like to be the guy to complain, I just need some advice here because I'm getting a bit discouraged as I'm riding by myself and with the national coming up I'm not sure what I'm in store for.

I am riding a little slower I feel because I had a nasty crash at Milestone on Dec 27th and broke some ribs and knocked myself out, plus I'm on a new bike but I don't feel like I'm that much slower.

Steve Kammerer #716g

Steve, I'm riding slower as well due to newly broken ribs, as well as my crash and resulting leg surgery from the end of last season.  I'm about ten to 8-12 seconds behind my old pace, but I expect to be riding at my old speed again. Also, the same thing happened to me from Beginner to Novice - first place to last immediately...LOL

Don't let it discourage you.  Just be safe and ride within your limits and it will all come back naturally.  And, above all, have fun!
