hi there guys
i love the suggestions that are out there. i would love to see if we can put together a diversified schedule so all classes will be happy.
i know that you can't appease everyone all the time. Phil and i have already been talking about what we can do. I'm down with all the input we can get.
lets try to always make it a positive input. Remember theres a lot of thought that go's into this about where and when you have the access to a track. i want the 2014
season to go as smooth and fun as possible. my first concern will be the ;D SAFTEY ;D of our riders and working with the track owners to make that happen.
Keep the suggestions coming cause we all need to make this a great year and everyone working together can make it happen.

1. Have our regular trophies with the name plate, plaques and gang bucks available for the member to choose at the end of the race.
2. Put out a colored shirt at our nationals. No more white or black shirts.Give out blue, green, orange or yellow.
3. Always have a picture of our number one rider on the back of the national shirt.
4. The jackets given out at the year and they would should be a real color not black .Blue, green, orange or yellow.
5. payout jackets to the top 50 riders. The jackets going up in quality the further toward the number one position.
6. Offer the Tommy Pearl band first choice as entertainment at our banquet and have the club members who play instruments join in to the onsombo.
7. Pay a over the Hill gang volunteer 100.00 to go to a desert race, date in the dirt,Transworld race or I Moto race and put on flyers onto the cars with our race schedule, reasons they should join our club and our website information. Transworld has 400+ riders and they don't finish up till dark. I don't think it's fun for a lot of those guys. Desert racing is long and very very hard and if you're stuck out late after the sun goes down you start to rethink desert racing because you're not fast enough to compete and complete before dark.
We need more members in the 45 intermediate class because sometimes it's just me and Craig and I'm tired of all these A.L.s.(Mark and Phil and Karen know what AL stands for)LOL ;D.
8. Keep the forum positive on the positive side.
9. Combine the national points and the local points with eight dropped races.
10 Sec. / Editor job more towards an account of constant contact which sends out pertinent e-mails about the goings-on of the club to the members. Because some people don't have time to go on the form they would just assume get an e-mail about updates.
The updates could be for nominations, results, upcoming races, rider position statistics.
11. Five points for showing up for a golf date. ;D
I think a big mistake was made last year by having the first few races two plus hours drive from orange county. I don't know for sure but I think it's a safe bet that orange county is fairly central to all the members and tracks so lets keep the drives balanced. if you have a bunch of races in a row that are to far to drive for a group of members especially if it involves one of our short series they may loose interest. I believe the core tracks are Comp Edge, Glen Helen, Milestone, Paris, Star West, Elsinore, go to these tracks twice then AV or Cahuilla, Race Town, I-5 or any other long distance track. I'm not a camper so it's quite a burden to make a long drive Saturday for practice and Sunday to race and don't get me wrong I'll go but please space them out.
i've seen a lot of members that are spaced out
That's because they get too much free stuff and do not have to work for it. 😉
Definitely add the Nationals in the schedule with 8 throw outs.
It would be great to make all the races at 1 place like AV 🙂
Or Milestone or Perris or Star West 8)

I do not agree with this. There are members in Vegas, Ridgecrest, Mojave, Lancaster and Palmdale-just to name a few places outside of Orange County. Cahuilla is about a three hour drive from Palmdale. Perris is over 2 hours, so is Star West.
This falls into the can't make everyone happy all the time category. I live in Ventura and love the I-5 and AV races because they are within an hour and a half from home. Every other track is 2 hours plus for me.
The schedule will never be perfect for everyone, I say do the best you can with what is available and lets ride.

hey there guys
Phil and i are working on the 2014 schedule now hoping to give everyone a little bit of everything.
so far it looks that way but remember that things can change due to unforeseen circumstances. so that being
said a race schedule is at it's best a 80% deal. keep the suggestions coming cause we are looking at them and really making
or decisions appropriate.
thanks

What Marty said, I'm a Ventura County guy as well. ;D
With the current rider count that the club is getting, you have to look at what tracks are the most profitable and or gets the best rider count.
