Nominations for the 2014 Board

Nobody said anything about it not being hard work & countless hours, we all know its a ton of that. Its the members that just do it so they have a free race & don't put effort in the club, growing & keeping its members.
How many  members & past board members are not around anymore??????????????

Its about that time again to get your Favorite ::) people on the next years Board/injured 😮 list.
Who is going to turn the OTHG around for the 2014 year?

How about Jimmy P for Pres?

A few years ago to say I would run again for President in 2014 would have been a sound bet. But a few things have changed since then in the club and with last years series of events, it precludes me from seeking the office of President at the current time.

Maybe at a future date. But I'm willing to help out in other capacities if needed.  8)

art flores has decided to take 2014 off to recover fully from his injuries and return fresh for 2015 so I have decided to run for president of othg for 2014 I feel my learning experience as v.p was successful and I learned many things and look forward to serving the riders next year and having an even better 1014 thank-you for support

I am new to the club, but I'd step up and volunteer for anything that helps the club out.  I can be at every meeting and I'm usually racing every weekend so I won't miss any events. 

Do we have a "ways and means" board position?

From the bylaws:

THE PRESIDENT: As chief officer of the Club, shall direct its business in a timely manner, preside at all meetings of the Club, appoint standing and special committees to carry out the purposes and objectives of the Club. He shall call meetings of the board as is necessary to conduct club business, supervise the duties of all other officers and maintain a properly functioning organization.

VICE PRESIDENT: Shall perform the duties of the President in his/her absence in a timely manner, schedule Race dates, OTHG functions and perform any other duties as assigned by the President. Additionally, the current year VP will schedule races through the first quarter (March 31) of the following year to ensure the OTHG has scheduled races while still ensuring a reasonable transition period for a new VP (as applicable) to have sufficient time to “learn the ropes” and “contacts” associated with scheduling races, etc.

SECRETARY/EDITOR: Shall keep the minutes of the meetings of the Club and provide to general membership in a timely manner, produce the Club Newsletter on a monthly basis and ensure timely delivery to membership requiring such and perform any other duties assigned by the President.

TREASURER: Shall receive all moneys of the club and deposit such moneys in the Club account in a timely manner, co-sign all checks with the President (or appointed designee), make remittances as required, pay bills, maintain a detailed record of all receipts and disbursements and demands. In addition, the treasurer will perform any other duties as assigned by the President. At the end of his term, the treasurer shall deliver and present for audit to the incoming board all books and records of the club.

RACE DIRECTOR: Shall maintain order at gang meetings and other club/race events as directed by the President, levy and collect all duly authorized fines and perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President. Shall oversee race day activities to include practice/race schedule, riders are participating within their assigned classifications (practice/race), and post activities to include rider advancement and race committee coordination in a timely manner.

RACE STATS: Shall tally all points from OTHG events and provide to appropriate OTHG personnel (editor/web master) in a timely manner, maintain the gang membership rolls, and perform any other duties assigned by the President.

WEB MASTER: Shall maintain the Club website in a timely manner and perform any other duties assigned by the President.

Since you guys are most likely going to be on the top of the OTHG for 2014 whats the plan to grow & keep members interested in the club? This year has been quite the downer.

I'm locking this thread so we do not have two of the same.
