Hey everyone, new to the site as I am in the Sierra Chapter and just getting back into racing with the gang. Question, are there any YZ 250 two stroke riders and has anyone tried the 22 mm offset clamps. YZ will never turn like an RM but I'm trying my best to do so! ThumperTalk had a few posts where people liked it or where luke warm. Wondering how any Vets felt about it.
Thanks for reading and hope to drop by a few of your races in SoCal!
Dave - I have a YZ250 smoker and run the stock triple clamps, most in the OTHG find the smokers too hard to ride but I think they are easier and more fun.
I had 22mm off set on my honda and it does make it turn better.
Thanks guys! keep the opinions coming. For top and bottom clamps we are talking about $550 new...I really don't want to experiment with that kind of money. Looking for someone who can verify they work to make the YZ turn sharper. For only 5 mm you wouldn't think it would be that great of a change but some people rave about them...
I have a OO YZ250 and put a full set of Applied triple clamps on it. It made the cornering a lot better as well as stopped the head shake in the bars a little bit. Ebay has lots of sets of clamps on there for yz's.
What triple clamps are you looking at? RG3 clamps are really nice.
That is what I have is RG3 clamps... Forgotten what offset I choose...What ever they recommended at the time......But not stock
Protankey - what bike did you run the RG3 clamps on. Yes that is the brand I plan to choose if I go with new clamps. Or may just buy an RM!
