Mike,
2:10 am post. What did the bar close? :'( :'( :-*
LOL....
Nope, just a late night work schedule again. That's not to say there wasn't a cocktail by the computer though. ;D
Great news Kev! Rest up.

First and foremost, I am very happy to hear that the injuries, while disheartening are not ones that will cause permanent disabilities in these two members of the OTHG. As someone who was seriously injured at the end of 2012 and has missed the entire 2013 season I hate to read stories like this.
As a Fireman/Paramedic, I hate to read stories like this!!!!! I have seen the effects of an individual believing that they are fine only to severely injure themselves later on! And while you can not prevent someone from leaving or refusing medical treatment if they are able to answer some basic questions, I feel a better way to approach a scenario like this is through education.
By educating members on the effects of concussions, internal bleeding, etc. members will have a better understanding of why they feel the way that they do after suffering these kinds of injuries. Does everyone need to go for an ambulance ride after every crash? I would say no. However, there are certain crashes that should dictate a ambulance ride. Knowing which one should receive that emphasis is key for the safety of all members.
As I tell individuals who want to refuse transport by an ambulance, if you don't want to go that's fine. However, do it for the people who care about you!
I will be returning to the 45 beginner class in 2014, if the OTHG is interested in putting on a very basic EMS class for the members, I would be more than happy to help in any way possible.
I for one would be very interested to participate in a class such as this. I hope othermembers will feel the same and take advantage of Rich's offer.
Glad to hear everyone is on the road to recovery.
Kevin and Tommy are two of the coolest dudes in the OTHG, both are from Ridgecrest.................is it something in the water there?
Thanks J.P. I will send you a check for that later LOL.
I am actually back at work today feeling pretty decent. Going to do follow up appointments later this week.
I would definitely be interested in the class, I have had many military and industrial safety classes on such things but a refresher is never a bad thing. Thanks.
The tough part about this whole thing is that it is easy to say the next time this happens I will not be dumb about it, well in reality you never know how you will react until you are put in certain situations. If I had truly thought I was about to pass out would I have driven? Of course not. I had no idea that I impacted the ground as hard as I did. I guess that if I were not so stubborn it would help me in the future.
Check out the new Troy Lee designs CP 5955. This chest protector offers proper fit and comfort and is made to accept the Leatt neck brace after you remove the sternum and upper spine protected sections.+-200$
The CP 5900 does not offer shoulder and bicep guards.
They fit trim enough to allow New Jersey fit over them. So, your name can be seen.
I re-posted this comment on this thread which is more applicable until a moderater organizes it better.
