I tried doing both last time and othg started on time and I missed moto 1 on the main track.
We are rolling the dice trying to hit 4 motos at two tracks.
Even so, I would do it again(Race both).
Yes Chris its very tuff to do both, but I did get to check out some of the other motos and for the first race everyone looked great on the track.
And I need to say thanks for all the hard work the board put into this first race and a special shout out to Bobs kids for all the work they put in.
Sure would be nice seeing these kids that are there all the time sporting some OTHG Jackets with their names on it. Hell I will even start the donation of 20.00 to get them a jacket that sez Track Crew or something fitting.
And also Elaine, Su, Barbara and Starr should have jackets as well.
Blake, I think you are forgetting lots of costs.
Insurance, gate ladies, misc workers, equipment rental fees (or cost of equipment if it is GH's) etc.
But it is like I always say, if it is so easy to make so much money then why is not everyone doing it?
Also, they over watered a bit perhaps but it is motocross. it is not road racing.
Based on how much people expect from track prep today it would likely give people a heart attack if you had to practice on a "prepped" De Anza track.
I am just happy to ride and race on such a huge variety of tracks. We have it WAY too good in SoCal.

That sounds like a great idea!!! If we all chip in some money, I bet we could make it happen!

I wish I rode half as good as you do. And my rage has subsided so I can laugh at myself now for ranting. OTHG has 6 races scheduled at this place and it would suck if we got treated like this every time.
We shouldn't have to go tell the track crew we are here for our race, do you think we could get the track prepped?

I agree! And I don't think it's whining. If we were getting the track for free that would be one thing, but we are paying them to do a job.

well the good news is that I think this was a fluke, just an unfortunate series of events.
So onward and forward. 8)

I'll donate another $20 . Good idea.

-----------------------
The 2 boys have been coming through for us for a couple years now.
Overall, it was a great day. When I first got there I looked over the track and knew there were issues. I did talk to board members and then also went and talked to one of the main track workers, as there was no water pressure to do any watering at all (At least now I know where the main valve is at). Once that was turned on, myself and some other club members started to water some areas. Then since the bulldozer was not coming over, I also was able to get a message to Lori to try and get the bulldozer over to the REM track.
So, the point I'm trying to make, is not that I'm bragging about helping get the track in shape. The point is that sometimes things don't go quite as expected due to circumstances. So, even if the club has paid for a well prepped track, as members, we can also help out in a time of need. After all, it is our club.
Of course, if the REM track is lacking next time we race there, then a meeting with the track management should be had.
Thanks
Phil Cruz
Phil,
You did a great job Sunday for us and with us. Thanks for all your efforts for the day.
Ben
Thanks Phil, your help was much appreciated and a valid point made. I too try and help when I can because as you said it is our club.
Let's move forward and chalk this down as poor timing, and take another approach.
I am gonna take Kevin and others input and give them the benefit of the doubt, and put into the wind and hope our wishes float into the Glen Helen office and Lori feels our OTHG energy for a awesome track. I need to use my own positive thoughts and energy and make this experience a good one. So moving forward lets hope we have the weather in our favor next time and everyone is healthy and happy. Happiness is more important to me than this Iron horse.
