Couldn't make it out there today.  How was it?  Weather seemed to really cooperate.

It took forever for the staff to get equipment on the track, practice was fun but during the race the track crew watered way to much and made it a dangerous mess. No clue how to water tracks without creating a mudfest.

Yes the delay sucked.  I hate when important employees call in sick.  I'm sorry I over watered and I'm sure all the flaggers who water weren't trying to put anybody in danger.  I didn't experience a dangerous mess, but then again I like Glen Helen  8)

You sure had a great view of 28 Gold Cup starts parked where you were.

I guess it all how you look at it, is the glass half full or empty? Yes there was a delay but, it gave everyone time to catch up and bench race.

Gary thanks for all the help this weekend and you were the one over watering the track!!

I was just glad we had water!!!    Thank you Gary.
Not a big fan of the REM track, BUT HAD A BLAST!!!!  Physically, a very demanding track (there are no places to rest)!

See you at LACR.

The people i saw watering were not othg members but staff of the GH.
And they gave the dozer driver the day off because of BS superbowl that the tax payers have to pay for because the NFL is a non profit. 39 million that will be charged to the sheep and the wolves.
Not only did giving him the day off effect OTHG but it also effected the Gold Cup as we were on a track that was not touched in certain key spots.

Did you mean contagious? Well I try and have my eyes open to the bigger picture, and this video pretty much sums it up.

I had a great time!...... but I gotta agree with Blake.  Not to sound like the water Police but they watered way too much, especially the hills.  I heard Phil went out to tell them to back off the watering, but clearly they didn't.  Maybe next time we are there we talk to the track crew ahead of time and tell them what WE want since we are paying them.  😉 🙂

Over watering is broken down like this, if they flood the track is stays wet longer and then the track worker can play on their phone longer.
We paid for a prepped track and we did not get one, the track was unsafe in quite a few places.
That last thing I want to see is some of my friends get hurt, or even worse getting hurt myself.

The funny thing is we don't go to some tracks because they aren't Vet friendly, but we go to tracks like Glen Helen and when the track is prepped correctly it is usually fun but challenging. But when you start on a track that got pounded the day before during racing and then dump a ton of water on it the track becomes down right dangerous if your racing against someone.

Lets look at some numbers.
Sat: 300 plus practicing main track @ 25.00 =7500.00
Sat: 100 plus REM racers gate fee @ 10.00 = 1000.00
Sat: 100 plus Truck racing gate fee @ 10.00 = 1000.00
Sun: 300 plus Gold Cup Gate fee= 3000.00
Sun: 25 plus trucks practicing @ 25.00 = 625.00
Sun: 100 plus OTHG gate fee @ 10.00 = 1000.00
Conservative estimate would be 14125.00

15 track flaggers @ 10 hr for 10 hours =1500.00
2 Tractor drivers @ 20. hr for 12 hours = 480.00
Equipment fuel for weekend = 600.00
utilities for the weekend = 450.00
Accounts rec. 14125.00
Accounts paid 3030.00
Est. Total profit of 11095.00

Thank you Eric, that makes the totals go up...lol
I am sure some of you would say I am complaining, and I guess I am.
But the races did not get started until after 11am, I was able to do the first moto on the skating rink but because of my commitment for the gold Cup I wasn't able to make my second moto. But if we started when we were suppose to I could have done it and still make my second Gold cup moto.
I guess I should blame myself for trying to Multi task.... :-[
