Keith Brockmann

#55

Age: 47

Hometown: Twenty Nine Palms, CA

Bike: Kawasaki 2012 KX450

Sponsor: DKF Racing

How and when did you get into MX: I started riding MX in 2000. My buddy said, "Hey, do you ride?" I said yes! So we went to LEMP By the end of the day his brand new KX dropped in value about $5,000.00! Riding MX was not quite the same as riding in corn fields and pastures! With my work schedule, I was only able to ride about 4-10 times a year, so I really wasn't very good. In early 2009 I was three weeks out of shoulder surgery and met Mark Flinders (who was less than 2 weeks out of back surgery) at LEMP. In May of 2010 he talked me into doing my 1st MX race. At this point I thought I was a bad ass on bike and signed up in the intro-beginner class! Turns out, I was wrong! But, I was hooked. In 2012 Mark talked me into coming over to OTHG. I'm glad he did!

What do you like most about MX: The people! Most of the riders are really cool, they'll go out of their way to help you. Anything from loaning you tool, helping change a tire, inviting everyone over to watch the race on the side of their RV, invite you over for Lasagna or a burger!

True story, this shows the character of MXers! In 2010 I had a pretty bad get off in Saturday's practice and could hardly move. My bike was pretty twisted and needed some serious maintenance. This dude in my class (Matt Tallman) knowing that if I was able to ride, I would probably beat him. Matt still straightened my bike and did a full race prep on it for me!

THE PEOPLE ARE AMAZING!!!

What's your greatest accomplishment: If you ask most people they'd say still being alive! For me, it's raising a Son who has grown up to be a better man than me!

What other sports do you enjoy doing? MX really kinda made all other sports obsolete! My Al Bundy football days are long gone, but I still like to watch football occasionally (not so much this year).

Shout outs and thank yours? This list would be extremely long! So, I'll simply say thank you to the OTHG family for the friendship, comradery, great racing, support, hard work and dedication! We may be the most jacked up dysfunctional family around...but we're still family!
