calling all 30/38 beg

Nice post Mike. This is what i was trying to tell you guys about your numbers. If it wasn't for teaming up with the Sierra you would be struggling to.. I think the Sierra might be in worse shape if that were to happen.. Now if you were to combine the two age groups then you can easily have that average of 10 to 15 hands down and at a national close to a full gate.. I took my break this year and plan racing gang races next year. I'm sure we'll see each other in the gate soon..

Ok MIke heres a little tid bit on your supposed average of 10 to 15 guys in the 30 int class. This is based off of just your chapter at these races. Not including Nationals.

  Feb 6 = 6 riders 

  march 6= 3 riders

  april 3= 7 riders

  april 17= 6 riders

  may 15= 2 riders

  june 11= 9 riders

  june 25= 3 riders

  july 9= 5 riders

  july 23= 8 riders

  aug 6= 7 riders

  aug 21= 4 riders

  oct 30= 6 riders

  So where is this average of 10 to 15 at every race that you speak of? You haven't hit 10 nor 15 riders.. There were a few races that not 1 Sierra guy showed up..

You have alot of time on your hands. When I look I see a average of 10, sorry, maybe it wasnt 15. A couple with 12, some with 9, 6, 4, but mostly 8-10, is that better. And we Bay/Sierra race as ONE so our gates count as one . Also, the Nationals which you have missed have always had a decent amount of riders in every class.  I also noticed a average of 10+ Novice riders in 30+, about 15+ in 38 Novice. 3-5 in 30 Beg. 5+ in 38 Beginner, sometimes as many as 8. 38+ has about 5, sometimes more sometimes less.

So the 30/38 classes show well over 50 riders. I think thats more then your average race at a South event for all classes. Again not trying to make a dig, but you orginal comment was there are no 30/38 riders. Well there are plenty in our area and plenty in yours. If you make it inviting and fun you will soon have fuller gates.

Hope to see you, I saw you on track practicing friday at South national but never got a chance to meet you with helmets off. Your ride good and I would have had nothing for you. I even saw a few of the leg kicks over jumps goofing off. Looked like you were having fun. Thats what i like, I try to goof off and have fun when out there too. We'll meet at a National next year Im sure, first beer is on me. 8)

Like i said this was just your chapter and not including national cause you get guys from all chapters. So this was just based on your chapter alone. When did you get 10 or even 12? I don't see that anywhere unless your referring to national dates. Yes i do have time on my hands cause i work nights and get to ride during the day on week days.. ;D ;D

I race 30 Beg and have done about 6 races this year.  Yes most of them I have been the only one in my class, but I have gated with all of the beginners (usually 10-12 riders).  I have had some great battles with some older fellas and have had a blast at every race I have attended.  I wish I could go to the out of area nationals, but with my business and 3 kids under 4 it's tough.  What would changing the club to a 40+ club accomplish?  Should myself and the other 30/38 members just quit?

I think you have the wrong idea.The 30 goes to 37 and 38+ goes to 44 then its 45+ and 52+. I'm not asking to change to a 40+ club but to combine 30/38 to help build this lower age group with more riders on the gate per class. Got it, and that makes sense.  To me personally I don't care how many people are in my class as long as I start with a good amount.  I was a little disappointed at the national when I only left with 3, but oh well.  My goal is to workout, ride more and bump myself up to Novice early next year anyways. 

Good for you man. Work hard and you'll be there in no time.. A lot of seat time helps and i don't mean your computer chair either .haha  ;D ;D ;D

Eric sounds like a good idea the 30/38 class combined 30 45 52 60 i think we would have a little trouble filling the 60 class right now and there was nothing negative about you post  ;D

Thanks Vegas tell that to Talbot.. I personally think the 60+ should be on hold for another year but who knows more guys may want it this year..

1 I'm not angry chris. I think its sad that a member from your chapter has to ask guys to come out to race so he has guys to race with at a NATIONAL. I'm not being a debbie downer as you say. You need to realize chris that if it wasn't for you the bay and the seirra to race together at all your races you would have the same problem. Re-read my post and you'll will understand that it is relevant to Mr. hamiltons post. I like said it was a thought and i think should be looked into.

Unfortunately John this guy deserves it. Maybe you should read the stuff he says to me everytime he gets on here and for no reason other than to make things worse. All my posts on this thread i wasn't mad till he started in. I had to defend myself to this guy. After that me and Mike662b were able to have a constructive conversation.. Did you read the whole thread John? or just part of it. Read the whole thing before you post and you will see that i am trying to make my age group stronger.
