Ok, I've got a question.

There was some talk on the forum about the 35th anniversary of this club having already passed. I thought, let me check those bylaws, there's got to be some info there.

Here's what I've got.

FOUNDERS

The founders of the Parent Chapter of the “Over The Hill Gang Association” are Mr. Erik G. “Rotten
Rick” Hallmark and Mr. Edward L. “Edgy Eddie” Rucker, May 21, 1974  
So here's my math. May 21, 1974 is the day the club was born, right? So... Wouldn't May 21, 2009 be the 35th birthday???
So... My question is... Don't we still have eight months or so to celebrate that 35th year?

I explained it at the meeting, but I will try again.

When you celebrate years in existence, you do not drop the first 12 months that you were in business. So, when you turn when 1 you celebrate a year in existence, the next day you are on your 2nd year.

So with that being said, the end of 2008 we have been in existence 35 full years, Jan 1st started the first our 36th year. If you go by the born date, May 21, then May 22 2009 was the start of our 36th year. See it's not that hard.

But if you guys want it to be 35th then, that's OK also.

Jimmy dammit....when you get as old as we are, we want to start counting backwards. Like last year i was 52, so now I think I want to be 51 again...........................so in about 35 years I will be graduating high school again..........see it is so easy...............Then I could only hope the LA Coliseum has another Superbowl of Motocross so I can ride it again........................

Absolutely semantics, but that is how it is done.

35 years and 4 months is 4 months into your 36 year.

When you celebrate your 35th birthday it is the completion of your 35th year, the next day you start your 36th year.

I am glad that a few members feel passionate enough to run with something.  🙂

Getting to technical.

It is a date.  

Just be glad that this motorcorss club has survived either 35 yrs, 35 yrs and 4 months or 4 months into 36th year.

It is a great club, the people rock, the good times rock, the racing rocks. . .and hopefully it will
have another 35 or more years to get even better.
