No Chucky, Bob, Steve, Eric, Carl, Jay, and Papa Joe did I miss the memo 😉
Joe is coming now. He said he wasn't sure if he was going to have surgery so that's why he waited. Unfortunately I think SoCal is have their banquet the same night, so some of our guys may have to make a tough choice. 🙁 But what can you do, both clubs have to try and work around the supercross schedule, and that doesn't leave us with very many open dates this time of year.

I have been off work for 6 weeks and compensation has not kicked in yet. Also 80 miles one way for $50 chicken.

Sorry to hear that Bob. We tried to pick something fairly close to Glen Helen this time since that is our home track, but as spread out as our members are, it's tough to find something that works for everyone. Bob, I will miss seeing you there and handing you your national award in person. 🙁 Chuck got a national award too but it doesn't look like I will be handing it to him either. 🙁 You guys can either have someone pick them up for you or get them from the 2012 board at your next race. Sorry you can't make it. I guess I'll see you guys on down the road sometime. Take care,

How does this national award work anyway?
If you compete in all 5 nationals, you get an award for where you finished in the national series points...and it doesn't matter where you finished either, all that matters is that you did all 5 nationals. It's the club's way of saying "Thanks" for doing the national series.

Ira, it is quite an accomplishment to have attended all five Nationals. I've been able to do it the past two years. This years plaque is special as it bears the number 18, the number I earned as an Iron man. Although I would have liked to have had it presented to me by President Hamblin, I figure to use the three hundred smakeroonies the banquet usually costs me, ( new dress AND shoes for the wife, room and dinner ) towards an assault on the number 1 plate. So as we will miss you all, Nancy and I WILL be there next year with a stunning new dress and some new shoes just like the the other pair that was left behind in Emelda's closet.
